Do you offer a guest book on your website?

One of my first HTML based websites had a guest book widget (similar to a blog comment form), that let visitors sign and comment. This guest book was a nice way to welcome visitors and let them make comments about the content. And, since the site was static, it also provided a daily content update.

BraveApps has a wonderful selection of free web tools you can use for your static site, including a guest book. Just be sure to integrate the look of the guest book with your site, so that it doesn't ruin your site's appearance.

I guess my first thought was why have one but now I understand why. Not a bad idea at all.

No but I sort of like the idea of it.

I took my website guest book down as it only attracted spammers and spam comments and illegal backlinks, so it served no good purpose.

Also, the guest book on an HTML site usually isn't on your site, it's some kind of add on and the comments is hosted elsewhere even if it looks like it's on your site. It's hard to explain. So it doesn't count as new content for your site for SEO purposes, like it would if it were comments on an actual blog.

Exactly, and not much meaningful today as well!
