Personal opinion really. As long as the work is good, I do not think that it matters much.

With a ghost blogger, you can take credit for the articles written. The material is ghost written, so you don't have to share a link with the writer. This could be an advantage for your SEO as you are not passing page rank or using excessive outbound links.

Hire a ghost writer or blogger and pay for the article, even if it's just a little money so you have all rights to use the article when, where and how you want without asking the author's permission.

Writing my own articles or blog posts is the best option as it lets me express ideas in a way that makes sense to me. If I let someone else write for my blog, then I have to accept their writing style without too much complaint.

I think that both are really good to use. It is a matter of personal opinion as stated but each will give your blog the articles that it needs.

I want to own all the articles on my site, so I will not share credit. So, either I will write the articles or pay someone else to ghost write and then put the article on my site.

I don't want to use other people's work or have someone else write articles for me, as it reduces my own credibility as an author. People will say, why can't she take time to write for her own blog?

This depends on how much I am being paid. If I am getting $5 for ghost writing 500 words article and $2 for writing 500 words guest blog, I will choose ghost writing. I am a professional writer and selling copyrights is not a big deal as long as I am paid good. However, if I get $4 for guest blogging and $5 for ghost writing, I will chose guest blogging because there is no big difference in payment.

I had a niceexperience in guest blogging so now I can say that I prefer to be a guest blogger than to be a ghost blogger. First of all, I write for passion and not for the money so I am not amenable to writing anonymously or writing for someone who would get the credit of my write ups. With ghost blogging, I have my dignity aside from the satisfaction that I get in expressing myself. As an advice from veteran writers, they say that when you write with passion then your soul is evident in what you write.

You need to be passionate about what you are writing. If you do not enjoy what you are writing, how could you expect your readers to enjoy your work. However, this works only when you are a hobbyist writer. For a professional writer whose primary job is writing, has to write on any topics whether you enjoy or not. I have written on topics that I hated to write and I have also written on topics that I did not know much. I had to write because I signed a contract to write.

Why not use both? Guest bloggers provide you with content but are a form of social proof. It can tell people that your site is important enough to attract contributions from other bloggers. On the other hand, ghostwriters will provide you content that you own without restriction, published under your name. So, if you have limited time or difficulty writing, you have a solution.
