    Why do some admin forums only focus on specific software?

    One of the most popular admin forums focus only on specific software, such as Xenforo/vBulletin, with all other software being compiled into a catch all generic subforum. And, considering there are so many more software available, being used by forum owners, it would seem like a smarter strategy to cover these other software on their own subforum. Is there a specific reason why some sites on forum management only cover specific forum software or have topics and subforums about those? If you own a forum for admins, maybe you have some insight into this situation.

    In some ways, it makes more sense to talk about the paid forum software than the free software as there would be more forum owners who are using these.
