    What if everyone abandons your forum after you sell it?

    The idea of building a forum is to have a place for like minded people to meet and talk. And, hopefully the community that you've built would stay together after you sell your forum. But what happens if many long time members decide they don't want to be on forum anymore afterward? What can you do before hand to encourage long time forum members to stay and keep the community together, even after you've left?

    Of course, your members will jump ship if they think you have abandoned them. Just tell everyone ahead of time that you're leaving and why. Don't leave the members in the dark as those are the people who helped you build the forum in the first place.
